Avon Knowlton, IOM, CCE

Executive Director

She is a native and life-long resident of Beauregard Parish and is fully invested in the economic and community development of SWLA and Central Louisiana. Her professional work is focused on ushering prosperity and opportunity into the region. 
Knowlton, along with others, was instrumental in the formation of LAFA. She consults and mentors community leaders, Chambers of Commerce and non-profits across Louisiana and the United States, working as a facilitator for boards, policy procedures, economic and community development, leadership programs, strategic planning, workforce development and project management. She is dedicated to working for a better quality of life for our military and their families, advocating in Washington and raising awareness for Louisiana Armed Forces Alliance.  Knowlton also served 17 years on the Fort Polk Progress Board of Directors.

She received her Certified Chamber Executive Certification (CCE) from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives in 2012, making her one of only two certified Chamber of Commerce executives in Louisiana. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia Institute of Organizational Management, through the US Chamber of Commerce.

She has been married to Edward Knowlton for 35 years and is the mother of Garrett and Dylan and grandmother of Bowen, Boone, Josie, Krue, Tad and Ruby.



Jessica Lowring

Membership Specialist 

Born and raised in Louisiana, Jessica brings a deep love for her community, strong family values, and a versatile skill set to her new role with the Louisiana Armed Forces Alliance. A proud mother of three active children, she understands the importance of supporting military families and the local economy that surrounds Fort Polk and the surrounding parishes.

Before joining the Alliance, Jessica ran her own photography business. As a photographer, she’s captured the heart of the region through her lens — telling stories of resilience, family, and community pride. Her background in small business, marketing, and client relations has given her the tools to build strong relationships and communicate effectively across diverse audiences.

Jessica is excited to bring her experience, energy, and passion for people to the Alliance team. Her unique blend of artistry, organization, and community engagement aligns perfectly with the mission of strengthening partnerships between Fort Polk, local leaders, and the state of Louisiana.

When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find her cheering from the sidelines at her kids’ sporting events or exploring local events with her camera in hand — continuing to highlight the stories that make Central Louisiana such a special place to call home.
